Frequently asked questions

Will this block all my apps, even the ones I need?

No. You choose which apps and websites to block and which ones stay open, so essentials like messages, maps, or work tools are always available.

Will my apps be locked out all the time?

No. Blocks apply only when you’re inside or outside halo’s radius — you decide which. You can also add schedules to make it match your daily routine.

Can’t I turn off bluetooth or get around it?

If bluetooth is disabled within the radius, blocking will continue. There’s also a lock mode that protects against common loopholes. You can prevent uninstalling and make it much harder to bypass limits.

Do I need to charge halo?

halo lasts about 2.5 years on two replaceable half-AA batteries, so you’ll rarely need to think about it.

Can I use halo with multiple phones or devices?

Yes. halo pairs with unlimited devices in range — family, roommates, or tablets.

Do I have to pay to use halo?

No. You just buy the halo device once. The ScreenZen app you’ll use to set it up is completely free.

Does halo require an account?

Yes, it requires an account to manage the halo device and add other users to it. The core ScreenZen app does not require an account.
